Sunny Jain

Raucous. Electrifying. Jubilant. Mesmerizing. Sunny Jain, of Red Baraat fame, returns with Wild Wild East concept album that explores the mythology of the romanticized American “cowboy,” newly realized through the eyes and experiences of modern-day immigrants. Wild Wild East delves into the courage to leave behind a homeland and head west; to boldly step into a new place, declare it home, and try to find your place in it. Along with these complex ideas comes Jain’s amazing ability to draw on myriad musical inspiration: jazz, indie rock, Indian folk, surf, East Coast rap, the music of Enio Morricone and Bollywood composer R.D. Burman. As Jain and his bandmates tumble purposefully through these music stylings, we’re forced to reconsider our surroundings. At heart, Jain is an alchemist – blending and bringing forth cultures, traditions, music forms, and ideologies into something raucous, electrifying, jubilant and mesmerizing.
