I’m sure this comes as no surprise but in consideration of the current State of Maine reopening guidelines and restrictions due to COVID-19, and the safety of our festival attendees and the community, we have come to the difficult decision to not proceed with the All Roads Music Festival for 2020 and instead concentrate on planning for a return to our normal schedule in 2021. Although this decision is extremely disappointing, we feel we cannot successfully stage the festival under the current guidelines without significant changes to our event that would make it challenging to maintain the festival environment artists and attendees have come to anticipate over the past 6 years.
While your safety and experience is at the core of the present decision, your support will be at the core of our future viability. Our ability to produce future festivals, continuing to have an impact on audiences and artists, and remain a part of Maine’s indie music community is in your hands. Quite simply, we need your help.
Due to the financial and operational uncertainties we find ourselves in, we believe the most trusting and direct course of action is to let ticket holders decide where their ticket dollars should go. We have sent all current ticket holders an email with four options: 1) Use your 2020 tickets for 2021. All tickets and passes for the 2020 Festival will be honored for 2021, and your old ticket will be the same ticket for the new date. There is no further action required on your part. 2) Donate all or a portion of your ticket that will go directly towards support for the All Roads Music Festival and its mission to showcase emerging local + indie music talent, 3) Apply your refund towards a Festival Voucher that can be redeemed for a similar ticket or pass type in 2021 or any future year of your choosing, 4) receive a 100% full refund if desired.
For those of you who did not have tickets for this year, PLEASE consider making a tax-deductible donation to Launchpad, the non-profit organization that annually produces the All Roads Music Festival. Help us continue this festival and provide support for artists and arts organizations across Maine. You can do so here – wearelaunchpad.org/donate
I want to personally thank our staff, this year’s festival artists, our Board of Directors, the City of Belfast, our venues and partners, for their continued support and efforts. Although we won’t be gathering in Belfast to celebrate this year, please know we have invited ALL our announced artists to join us next May, and you should expect new additions and surprises! More info on the 2021 Festival will be announced in the coming weeks. Until then please save the date: May 21 + 22, 2021 and continue to support local music!
With love and appreciation,
Executive Director / Festival Director
